Below are the details of standards required of students enrolled at En Pointe Dance Academy:
Child Safety: En Pointe Dance Academy is a child safe organisation. We have attended seminars on keeping children safe in the dance industry. All teachers and volunteers have provided a Working With Children Check number and have been approved to teach by the NSW Commission of Children and Young People.
Grooming: All hair should be tied up in a bun for all lessons especially ballet
Jewellery and valuables: Students should only wear sleepers or studs as earrings – dangly earrings risk getting caught and pulled out. All bracelets and necklaces should be left at home – unless it is for allergy or religious reasons. Students do not need to wear watches to dancing. We request that no student brings any valuables such as iPods, iPads, iPhones or such. We take no responsibility for property that is lost or stolen.
Classwear and footwear: Students are required to wear the correct uniform and footwear for all classes. Pride should be taken in wearing the uniform correctly. In winter, students can wear leg warmers and crossovers (wrap around tops) to keep warm in class. For personal safety and warmth in winter it is encouraged that students wear appropriate street clothes to cover their dancewear when arriving and leaving the studio. We have a studio tracksuit and t-shirts for this reason.
Attendance and punctuality: It is important that students attend their lessons regularly. To properly prepare for examinations and performances it is essential that lessons be not missed. Private lessons can be arranged to make up lessons missed due to illness. Please notify Miss Natalie should your child need to miss a lesson.
Punctuality is very important. All students must be ready to dance at least 5 minutes before class time. Late students miss work they have paid for and interrupt other students in the class and risk injury as they are not properly warmed up.
Drop off and Pick Up: Parents are responsible for ensuring their child has been escorted to the appropriate room and their class teacher is notified of their arrival. If your child is not being bought to dancing by their parent or guardian they need to notify Miss Natalie via text or email with who is picking up their child. No child will be allowed to leave the hall they are in until their parent has come into the hall to pick them up. Please do not wait for your child in the car. If you are running late, please send a quick text to Miss Natalie so that she can ensure the child is supervised and made aware of the situation.
Student Behaviour: Students are expected to give their best at all times. They should show respect for their peers, teachers and parents. We do not tolerate Bullying of any kind. En Pointe Dance Academy is a safe and non – discriminatory place for all students, parents and teachers. Please see our Member Protection Policy for detail requirements for teachers, parents and students.
Communication and social media: Electronic communication is essential for sharing studio news and information with our families. Please refer to our Member Protection Policy for detailed communication policy.
Allergy Friendly: We have a strict NO NUT POLICY. Students are not permitted to bring in any food products with nuts or traces of nuts as we have students who may be allergic to them.
Parents Watching: Parents of Pre Primary Students and over are not permitted to remain in the hall to watch their child dance. There is simply not enough room for both parents and children to move. The children find the chatter and siblings very distracting.
Parents of Tiny Tots and Kinder Dance are encouraged to wait in the waiting area during their class time. This is incase we need you to take your child to the toilet or she/he becomes upset whilst at dancing,
We have watching week end of term 1 and 2 so that you can see the progress your little dancer is making.
Food and Drink: Students are encouraged to drink water during lessons. Please ensure they have a spill proof drink bottle available for them.
Unless your child is at dancing for more than 2 hours there is no need to provide snacks.
Illness and Injury: All exercise is a potential risk of injury. We teach safe dance practices to avoid injuries occurring at En Pointe Dance Academy. Should an injury occur an injury form is to be completed with the appropriate first aid applied and parent called if necessary.
Should your child be unwell and is unable to attend please notify Miss Natalie.
• Upon enrolling your child you are required to pay the Annual Administration Fee of $50 to secure your spot. This fee covers insurances, copyright fees and overheads in setting your child/ren up in the system.
• Fees may be paid by cash, cheque or electronic transfer. Cash or Cheques should be placed in an envelope with our child’s name, date and amount you are paying for clearly marked on the front. This envelope is to be given to Miss Natalie ONLY. IF you choose to pay via eTransfer please use the following details:
Account Name: Natalie Pritchard
BSB: 082 057
Account Number: 24399 7829
Please use your INVOICE NUMBER as your reference and send Miss Natalie an email notifiying her of the payment.
• Fees are due week 1 of each term. Invoices are emailed out to you in the last week of the previous term. Please ensure the email you have provided is one you check regularly
• Overhead costs still continue regardless of how many students attend classes, therefore there can be no refunds for classes not attended. Instead students are encouraged to attend make up classes where possible.
• I would ask that you do not interrupt class with fee enquiries. Any enquiries relating to fees can be made to Miss Natalie via the email firstname.lastname@example.org
